Why buyers send plywood enquiries here

It comes down to the match: mills that fit your specification, from the first quote.

Matched by specialisation

Your enquiry goes to up to 3 Vietnam mills that already press your product, picked for its thickness, bond and sheet size. Not a general directory.

Professional suppliers

Matched mills quote to your specification, communicate clearly and keep you updated while your order is made.

You deal with the mill

Quotes, terms and delivery are agreed between you and the mill. Free for buyers.

What your enquiry has to say

Most first quotes are wrong because the enquiry left something out, and the mill guessed cheap. Tick what applies to your panel. The list that appears is what you should send us.

What buyers use these panels for

  • Concrete formwork panels
  • Export crates and pallets
  • Cabinet carcases and furniture parts
  • Truck and container flooring
  • Shopfitting and display units
  • Door skins and door cores
  • Caravan and vehicle interiors
  • CNC cut and laser cut parts

Vietnam mills press mostly plantation acacia and eucalyptus, and rubberwood for furniture panels. The species is the starting point, not the answer. Ply count, void tolerance and the glue on each line decide whether the panel holds a screw or splits.

Vietnam plywood grades and what to state

The same factory rarely does all of these well. Name the product first, then the detail in the last column, and the quote you get back will be close to the real price.

ProductCore and faceThicknessBondState this

Thickness ranges are what mills commonly press, not a promise. Sheet sizes are usually 1220 x 2440 mm and 1250 x 2500 mm. Other sizes are possible and cost more because the press setup changes.

Core species, face veneers and glue types

MR, melamine or WBP

Bond is the single line buyers get wrong most often. Waterproof is not a specification. Ask for the glue by name and put it in the contract, because the difference is visible only after the panel has been wet.

MR and melamine

Urea formaldehyde glue, melamine fortified in the better version. Interior use.

  • Right for packing, crating and furniture carcases that stay dry
  • Cheapest bond and the default a mill quotes if you do not name one
  • Melamine sits between MR and phenolic on both price and moisture
  • Not for formwork, exterior joinery or humid storage

WBP phenolic

Phenol formaldehyde glue, dark glue lines visible along the edge.

  • Needed for film faced formwork, exterior use and marine type panels
  • Survives boiling water tests, which MR does not
  • Runs well above MR on price, so mills do not use it unless asked
  • Ask for the boil test report if the panel is structural

What your market asks for

Paperwork travels with the panel. Decide these before the mill starts pressing, because a certificate cannot be added to a finished container.

MarketUsually required
United StatesCARB Phase 2 and EPA TSCA Title VI. Ask for veneer origin documents: panels pressed in Vietnam from imported veneer have been examined for duty circumvention.
European UnionE1 or E0 emission class, EUDR due diligence data with harvest geolocation, CE marking where the panel is used structurally.
JapanJAS grading and F four star low emission for interior panels.
KoreaKS standard and an emission class agreed in the contract.
Australia and New ZealandAS/NZS 2269 for structural plywood, AS/NZS 4357 for LVL, and formaldehyde class in the contract.

This is a buyer checklist, not legal advice. Rules change and your customs broker has the current version for your product and port.

Who buys Vietnam plywood

Tell us the end use in the first line of your enquiry. A mill set up for formwork panels and a mill set up for veneered furniture fronts are rarely the same factory, and the wrong one will quote anyway.

Stack of coated film faced plywood panels used for concrete formwork

Construction

Formwork panels, site hoarding and temporary works where bond and reuse count more than looks.

Packaging

Crate walls, pallet tops and machinery cases. The panels sit outside ISPM 15, the solid wood frame does not.

Furniture

Carcases, flat pack components and veneered fronts for factories importing panels by the container.

Shopfitting

Display units and fixtures where face grade and thickness tolerance decide the finish.

Transport

Truck decks, container flooring and vehicle interiors that take load and abrasion.

Joinery

Door skins, door cores and millwork panels cut to size before shipping.

How it works

One specification from you. A short list of mills that fit it. No bidding platform and nothing passing through us on the order.

  1. Send your specification

Product, thickness, sheet size, bond, certificates, volume and destination port. Five minutes, and you can attach a spec sheet or a photo of the panel you buy today.

  2. We match up to 3 mills

We check what is missing, ask you about it, then send the enquiry to mills that press that product in that size. You hear from us within 24 business hours.

  3. Mills quote you directly

Each mill answers you with its price, terms and sample offer. You compare, ask for samples and place the order with the one you choose.

What moves the price

Six things decide most plywood quotes. If a price looks high, one of them is the reason, and three of them are yours to change before you ask again.

What drives the price of Vietnam plywood

  • Core buildFull hardwood core costs more than a combi core with softwood centres. Ply count and void tolerance move the price as much as the species does.
  • BondWBP phenolic runs well above MR urea glue. Melamine sits between them. Ask for the bond by name, not for the word waterproof.
  • Face and back gradeAn A face is sorted, patched and sanded by hand. B/BB and utility faces cost a fraction of it and hide fine under laminate or paint.
  • Thickness tolerance and densityHolding 18 mm at plus or minus 0.3 mm means more veneer, more glue and more pressing time than holding it at plus or minus 1 mm.
  • CertificationCARB P2, FSC chain of custody and EUDR data carry audit and licensing cost, and only part of a mill output is usually covered.
  • Volume and loadingFull 20ft and 40ft loads price best. Part loads and mixed specification loads carry a premium because the press stops to change setup.

Questions buyers ask

Something else? Email .

Do you press the plywood yourselves?

No. PlywoodViet is a sourcing service, not a mill. We read your specification and pass it to plywood factories in Vietnam that already press that product. The mill quotes you, produces the order and ships it. You contract with the mill directly.

Is this free for buyers?

Yes. Sending a specification and receiving quotes costs you nothing. Price, payment terms and shipping are agreed between you and the mill.

Who sees my specification?

Mills first see a short preview: product, thickness, sheet size, bond, quantity and destination. The preview carries no company name and no contact details. Your full enquiry goes only to the mills we match, 3 at most.

What is a realistic minimum order?

Most exporting mills quote from one full container. A 20ft container holds roughly 400 to 500 sheets at 18 mm in 1220 x 2440 mm. Smaller trial orders happen, usually at a higher price per sheet, and some mills decline them outright.

Can the mills supply CARB P2, FSC or EUDR paperwork?

Some can and some cannot, and it varies by product line inside the same factory. State every certificate you need in the enquiry. Ask for the certificate number and for the origin of the face and core veneer before you place the order, because that origin decides your duty exposure and your EUDR file, not the country where the panel was pressed.

How long does an order take?

Typical timing, not a promise: samples in 7 to 10 days, production 25 to 40 days after the deposit clears, inspection and loading 2 to 3 days, then ocean transit. Tell us your required date and we will say if it looks realistic before you commit.
