Vietnam Plywood Export Markets: What Each Destination Asks For
Reference hub · Last reviewed 23 October 2026
Each destination asks a Vietnam plywood shipment four questions: what duty and trade remedies apply, which formaldehyde rule the panel must meet, what proof of legal and traceable wood the importer must hold and whether a product mark or standard is expected. This hub answers them side by side and links to a page per market.

The data pack that travels to every market
Most legality questions come down to the same facts about the wood, and a mill that keeps them by lot can answer any market:
- Species of face, back and core, with scientific names
- Country and province of harvest; plot geolocation for EU orders
- Supplier and country of any imported veneer
- Production records linking veneer lots to panel lots and containers
- The producer and exporter names on the invoice chain
The legality data sheet gives a template, and plywood import documents lists the shipping papers.
How the market changes the specification
The destination changes more than the paperwork. It changes the glue (a TSCA, REACH, F-star or SE0 requirement), the face grade system (HP-1, EN 635, JAS or KS), the sheet size (1220 x 2440 mm, 1250 x 2500 mm or 910 x 1820 mm) and sometimes the panel itself, for example a phenolic film faced panel built to meet the US exclusion wording. Choose the market first, then the recipe on types of plywood.
PlywoodViet is a matching service and gives no legal or customs advice. Send your specification with the destination through the enquiry form and we match it with up to three Vietnam mills that press that product.
Frequently asked questions
Which market has the strictest rules for Vietnam plywood?
Strict in different ways. The United States stacks duties and trade remedies on hardwood plywood and requires TSCA Title VI certification. The EU asks for plot-level wood data under EUDR. Japan and Korea rely on product marks or classes and check lots closely on arrival. Read the page for your destination.
Can one data pack serve several markets?
Largely. Species, country and province of harvest, plot data, veneer and core origin by lot and the mill's production records answer the EU, US, Japanese, Korean, UK and Australian legality questions. Each market then adds its own form, mark or certificate.
Do these pages replace a customs broker?
No. They are buyer checklists with sources, reviewed as of the date shown. Duty, scope and legality questions for a specific shipment go to your customs broker or the competent authority.
